Hearts of the Children

This painting was inspired by these verses in the Old Testament:

“Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the Lord:

And he shall turn the heart of the fathers to the children, and the heart of the children to their fathers,…”

—Malachi 4:5-6

What does it look like for hearts of the fathers to turn to the children, and vice versa? Maybe it could be a little like this. Family history is frequently big, gnarly, and complicated, but treasures can be found hidden in the branches.
